It looks as though she's as healthy as possible, and though she'll probably live a shorter than normal life she should be able to be healthy and happy for quite a while. The most likely prognosois is that her mother was infected with FeLeuk, and it passed to her while she was in the uterus. This doesn't mean she has it, in fact it gives her immunity to it, though due to her early exposure to the disease she has neurological issues, such as the head tilt.
I'm going to take her back in when she is old enough to be spayed, and we'll get her reassessed then. But for now: YAY!

A few new photos
This cat really speaks her mind, there's no two ways about it. This was taken on day 8, she's quite a bit bigger and certainly more feisty than before.
She also feels this intense need to fight the air that comes out of the vents. This can go on for several hours if I let it, she sits there and waits, then WHAM! That poor air never saw it coming. She also likes to sleep atop her kill. Can't blame her really.
She's getting tested tomorrow!
Her 10 day quarantine is up, she's going in tomorrow to get her ELISA test done. Keeping all fingers and paws crossed that she comes out negative.
She's been doing really well over the last few days, she's eating well, moving around like a bolt and her head is much more straightly held than it was before.
I've been calling her Zuzu, after Zuzu Bailey from Its A Wonderful Life. Its a Christmas movie, I found her near Christmas. Zuzu gets sick after going outside without her coat done up, cat was sick from being outside buried in a snowdrift-no coat at all!
Its tough, because if she is positive I'll have to have her PTS. I can't and won't risk my own animals getting sick (one of my cats has severe vaccine reactions, and can't get the FeLeuk vaccine). I can't adopt her out, I don't trust people well enough. I'm sure people have good enough intentions, but they'd always have to keep her inside, never get another cat (or get another Feleuk + cat)...
I don't think anyone is reading this, but if you are keep her in your thoughts tomorrow, send good wishes her way.

Wild and Crazy thing...
She shot out of her carrier this morning like a bat out of hell. If it wasn't for the almost completely sideways head she would be just like any other kitten. Screaming that it was way past her breakfast and ready to bust some heads she dove right in a gobbled down about 5mls of Mammalac. The she saucily walked around, telling the entire world her problems. She has a big ass voice on her. Probably some Siamese in her mix, based on her colouring and screeching.
Here she is, yelling in all her sideways glory.
The other cats are none to impressed with the screaming beast. They can't come in and meet her until her quarantine is over though. They've had their vaccines, but I'd never forgive myself if something ever happened to them. My boy Calvin is prone to URIs, so I feel its better safe then sorry.
The dogs are super interested too, but they can't come in either. I have no worries about them hurting her (not on purpose anyway) as they are very good with the cats. Especially cat savior extraordinaire Bram. He tends to get very protective over kittens I bring home to foster, seeing as he found this one himself I'm sure he'll be quite the good Mr. Mom.

I have a very crooked head
Welcome to my blog about my newest addition to the fur family, my kitten with the crooked head.
Kitten was found while I was out walking my dogs two two nights ago. My St. Bernard started acting funny, and dove head first into a pile of snow by the side of the road, pulling out what I at first thought was a clump of dirty ice, but turned out to be a half frozen, half dead kitten.
She made it through her first night, and was mobile by morning. However that is when I noticed her issue. Her head is held on a tilt. She was also refusing to eat. I work for a vet clinic, and I was lucky enough to be able to bring her in and get her checked out.
Unfortunately Dr. S thinks that she might have Feline Leuk/Distemper. He also thinks that it could be neurological damage from her mother having Feleuk when she was younger. She got a shot of Convenia, and has been sent home with me for the next ten days. She'll either live and get better, or die shortly. I guess we'll see.
